What is Wiro Binding? Wiro binding sometimes called Wire-o or spiral binding is a binding method which uses a continuous spiral wire that coils through holes down one edge of the booklet.
What are wiro binding benefits?
- wiro bound booklets can
lay flat
when opened up without damaging the spine.
- wiro bound books can be
folded back
on themselves.
- work well as either
double sided or single sided
printed pages.
- don't have to worry as much about the total page count unlike saddle stitching and perfect binding (which have to be in multiples of four).
What can wiro binding be used for?
- Note Pads.
Create wiro bound notepads for you and your workforce to use. Or even to hand out to customers as freebies. Can be printed with your logo and contact details and then with rules, grid or
specialised templates such as for drawing up plans for room layouts. They could be printed with a form that's appropriate for filling out details suited for your business. So when you visit a customer you don't forget any important details that you need to find out.
- Business Presentations.
Great for handing out at a meeting so the audience has something to follow through as you present your ideas/business propositions and also has something to take away with them so they have all the details. Wiro binding means that its easy for them to flick through and leave it laid flat on the table whilst listening to you. They could even write their notes down inside it if you leave some space.
- Business Reports.
Useful for handing out to clients/colleagues to inform them of the latest business findings.
- Instructional / Information Manuals.
Wiro bound booklets are also suitable for any general informational booklet that you may have in the pipeline.
How many pages can be wiro bound?
Wiro binding can accommodate as little as 6 pages and bind as many as 340 pages!

Artwork specifications for wiro binding
- Leave a 10mm safe area along the binding edge to allow for the holes of the wiro binding
- 5mm safe area on the other 3 page edges so no important text or logos are trimmed off the edges.
- 3mm bleed on all 4 edges of the page
- file saved as a high res pdf as single pages (not spreads)
