7 basics to create a professional impression through print and design

If you are setting up a new trade business such as electricians, builders, plumbers, patios and driveways specialists etc, then what print should you think about having to get to you started?

1 Logo Design

First step is to get yourself a company name and logo design that will help give the right first impression. We would highly recommend getting one designed personally to you and your company - you don't want to end up with a generic duplicate design the same as someone else. It's important you get one supplied in the right file formats too so it's high quality no matter what gets printed. Read more on logo design here.

2 Branded Staff Uniform

Turning up at a customers house wearing a branded uniform gives a good professional impression. You can have your logo printed with heat sealed vinyl or embroidered. We have many choices of garments such as polo shirts, t-shirts, hoodies, soft shell jackets, hi vis workwear, coats, fleeces, body warmers and so on. Whatever the weather you can still look professional. Read more on staff uniforms here

3 Business Cards

Business cards are ideal for handing out your contact details and keeping some in your wallet as you never know when you may get talking to a prospective client.

We have many finishes to choose from to suit all budgets. Such as matt or gloss lamination, spot UV varnish and foiling. Read more on business card options here

4 Flyers

Flyers are great for handing out with your service information and popping into neighbouring letterboxes where you have just completed some work.

You could have a simple A5 flyer or you could opt for a folded leaflet - if you have more information and services that you want to communicate.

5 Branded Note Pads

When you a visit a customers house and you need to take notes on measurements and customer preferences it would give a good impression to pull out a branded notepad. You could have a glued pad or a wiro bound notepad printed with your logo and lines or a grid, whichever would be more suited to your business.

6 Pavement Signs

If you are a company such as a builders, landscapers or driveway specialist, where your work is visible to passers by, then having a pavement sign outside your completed work is a good way to advertise your work and put on contact numbers, email and other services you can do.

Make it easy for the neighbours to get in touch with YOU to do the same work at theirs.

There are various options on pavement signs such as swinging signs, A-Boards and wedge signs. Read more on pavement signs here.

7 Website

Having a website shows that you are a professional company and can contain lots of information such as the services you offer, before and after photos of work you've done, testimonials, contact forms and contact information. Also you can then show up in google searches and gain clients through that way. You can also set up an email to match your company website - this looks so much more professional than using a standard Gmail account that anyone can do.

We offer affordable website packages starting as low as £240 (exc VAT). Check out our packages here.

So the those are the 7 basics for what you will need to get you started. Together they all give that great first impression to show that you are a serious professional business. Having care in your own business appearance shows that you are there to do a good job.

There are other print items that we can help you with too, such as banners and signage. See our products page here
